Grateful
Privacy policy
Last updated 6 November 2026
Grateful is a daily gratitude journal, a small project run by Jeremie Roberrini. This policy covers the web app at grateful.app.roberrini.com and says plainly what happens to what you write in it.
What the app keeps
- What you enter: your moods, the moments you pick, what you write, the dates, and your nickname if you add one.
- Your account: your email address, and with Google your name and profile picture. Google is used to sign you in and for nothing else.
Where it's kept
Grateful needs an account, so your journal is stored on a server: with Supabase, through Lovable, the platform the app is built and hosted on. Lovable also handles Google sign-in and sends the sign-in emails.
The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as your IP address and sets one technical cookie to protect the site from bots. Your sign-in session is kept in your browser.
AI reflections
On the About you tab, you can ask for a gentle reflection on your journal. Only when you press that button, your 120 most recent entries (their dates, moods, moments and what you wrote) are sent through Lovable's AI gateway to Google's Gemini model, which writes the summary. Those services handle the request under their own terms.
The summary is shown to you and is not saved. If you never press the button, nothing you write is sent to an AI.
Who can see it
The database only lets each account read and write its own entries. There's no feed and no sharing. Your journal is not end-to-end encrypted, though, so the person running the service could technically reach the stored data. That access isn't used, except if you ask for help with your own account.
Your journal is never sold or used for advertising, and the app has no ads and no analytics.
Your choices
All of these are in the app, on the About you tab or on the entry itself:
- You can edit or delete any entry at any time.
- You can download your entries as a file.
- You can delete all your entries, and keep your account.
- You can delete your account, which permanently removes it and your whole journal.
Children
Grateful is meant for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page and the date at the top will change.
